Engaging Affairs is the D.C. area’s premier wedding planning company, creating the city’s most gracious and glamorous weddings since 1996. We’ve been ranked #1 in Washingtonian magazine ten times and have won multiple awards for our gorgeous weddings. We’ve designed weddings for movie stars, politicians and professional athletes. But what sets us apart (aside from our massive experience) is our passion for all things wedding.
Whether it’s a multi-day South Asian bash, an intimate same-sex ceremony, or a swanky museum affair, we thrive on being a part of a day devoted solely to celebrating love. Beyond getting our love fix, we are all about making our couples’ engagements the best time of their lives. Our clients are busy professionals who look to us to save them time and reduce stress so they can truly enjoy the planning process and the wedding day. We are all about streamlining and simplifying the often-overwhelming process. Most of all, we understand the years of dreaming that are entrusted to us to create one day of unforgettable moments!
We’re upping the dreaminess factor today with this real waterfall elopement in Oregon. Jordan and Phil packed their bags for the Pacific Northwest and exchanged vows in private under rushing waters, with Minerva House Photography there to capture it all and En Vogue Events to make sure everything went off without a hitch. Later on, the couple had a celebration in Houston to celebrate their newlywed status with friends and family to get the best of both worlds!

PSA: our diamond senses are tingling! And this time it’s for Good Stone. This Texas-based fine art jeweler is taking the wedding world by storm with their custom designs and ethical gem sourcing, and we simply can’t get enough of their eclectic stackers. Can our new philosophy be “no finger left bare?” A tasteful artisan who is expert in all things fine art, it’s clear that Good Stone’s one-of-a-kind pieces will become heirlooms to last generations. So we’re here to give you the full sitch on just how Good Stone is setting the bar high while keeping prices low.
One of the coolest things about their business is the fact that they interact with 98% of their couples via the world wide web. Operating from their own studio as opposed to a brick and mortar store, this referral-only model allows them to sell at a fraction of the costs you’d see elsewhere, while quality, one-on-one interaction and attention to detail remain high. Their commissioned rings for brides past are a testament to both their fine art skill and ability to transform personalities into pretty, timeless rings, and it is always a happy day when we discover a new piece on their Instagram feed!

Hey there! I’m Ashley, a wedding planner based out of San Francisco planning weddings around the world. Creating an event is something that I value. Not only is an event purposeful but one should be well crafted and beautiful. I don’t believe in sacrificing one element for the other. I believe that purpose, craft, design, and strategy are all cohesive elements to produce a successful event. Weddings are so much more than just a celebration or a pretty tabletop, there is connectivity and flow. From these an opportunity for you and your guests to be enchanted, to be a part of an experience you’ll carry away with you. Have you ever been a part of something where you were swept away by your current state that you forgot whatever else was going on in the world? Where it feels like you’re part of something that only matters right then and in that moment? Creating that experience comes from the energy and love put into planning the event.
Lets be friends. No, seriously though, lets!
I do far more than just plan weddings. I travel, I cook, I laugh (a lot), I play, I hike, I challenge myself, I take risks and I am constantly growing. I love people and adventure. I try new things. I am curious. I have high standards. I listen. I create. I do. Take the time to get to know me and I’ll do the same for you. I am highly intuitive with people and take on personal missions to make your wedding the most suited to you and your dreams as possible. The planning process can be overwhelming and overstimulating. Let’s face it, no one wants to do it on their own, so let’s work together!
I am available for weddings in California and worldwide. Fun fact, I am certified by the board of tourism in Mexico to plan and work there. I have spent years visiting the Riviera Maya + Tulum as well as other regions in Mexico, like Baja California Sur. Tulum is hands down one of my favorite places on earth. If I am not in San Francisco planning weddings and being social, you’ll find me on the beach at BeTulum, Coqui Coqui, Papaya Playa, or exploring the coast lines in Central America.
